Although we create Groph images out of images with many thousands of colours we have always saved them as 256 colour GIF images for reasons of file size. Although this makes Grophland run faster, especially for those of you on mobiles and slow internet connections, it also creates pixillated images in many cases, making some combinations of clothing simply unusable.
Well no longer! Grophland now creates both lower-size and higher quality images of Grophs, and chooses which one to show based on whether it thinks you are on a mobile or normal browser. In addition you can visit your user settings to choose to override these defaults if (for example) you have a slower internet connection and always want to see the smaller images.
Thank you to everyone who contributed new Themes, I think the ones we have ended up with are brilliant pieces of work!
But now it's time to turn back to items. This time I'm looking for people who might be able to help re-draw some of our most out-dated art, clean up some blotches on the landscape (some mine) and improve the overall quality of item art.
A last new theme has been added today, thanks to the irrepressible Hanzie

Small improvement here, but the collection quests (Gardener, Sea Witch, Librarian etc.) now show countdown bars displaying how much time you have left to hand in a quest or get a new quest.
Tired of Splats? Got too many Scarabs sitting around? Well now you can collect Scarabs in the brand new Scarab Chest (thanks to GemmaZ for the art).

Just like Splat collecting, that means there are some nice new avatars to be had!
In addition you can now drag and drop splats to jars, and scarabs to chests, in your inventory.
A new theme has been added today

The venerable icons on the map screens have had a small facelift, with smoother edges that look better on the darker themes
Can't get enough Chocolate? Well look no further, for here are some delights. Moreover eating sweets now makes a Groph increasingly bouncy. Bouncier Grophs get less miserable when left alone than Grophs who have eaten fewer sweets. Beware however! Eating too many sweets may permanently alter your Groph's nature!

Today on Grophland, Grophtown has grown a new street, Mansion Street, where the grandest residences are to be found.

Naturally there are some new items, and some new secrets, to be found within.

When you drag items to containers they will now show an icon to indicate whether or not you can put it in that container. Hopefully these are self explanatory, but if not ... left is yes, right is no

Please note, iPads no longer display the mobile layout by default, and are treated as normal web browsers. If there are other pads incorrectly detecting as mobiles please let me know.
Also for those having problems selecting the tools in the garden on the iPad try clicking the tool icon twice (or holding until it gets a grey outline), this should allow you to water and harvest plants. Dragging and dropping to plant now also works.
