The year is a-turning and the Harvest and Halloween festivals have passed, so the features forum is being given over to Kuak and Kala, our next major festivities. You can still submit item redraws though, if that's your thing.

We've been asked for more lower level Pit opponents, so here we are. The Dark Cervere hails from the deep forests of the Jungle Island. A nimble and vicious predator more than capable of devouring a novice Groph warrior!

Guilds! (posted 17:34)

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Guilds on Grophland. Guilds are player run organizations. Guilds have their own officers, forums, pages, logos and bank accounts. If you want to get like minded players together for any reason, then a Guild is the way to do it!

Who can make a Guild?

Any paid member can create a Guild, becoming the Guildmaster. Each paid member can only have one Guild at a time. Once the Guild is created the Guildmaster can accept other members, promote officers, create pages and more.

Who can join a Guild?

Any member can join a Guild (subject to approval by the Guildmaster), and you can switch Guilds whenever you like. Paid members can join up to three Guilds at once, not just one!

Small Updates (posted 7:56)

Just some small coding updates today

• The weapons display on Grophs no longer acts as if they could have 8 weapons
• Removing a charm now correctly updates the number of charm slots available
• Forum quotes now automatically include login as well as nickname
• Bows are now a little better (add evasion as well as agility)
• Healing done by healing potions has been raised
• Combats now show a picture of your defeated foe at the end

It's Halloween at last, and the Moon Moth seems to have finally retreated back into the shadows from whence it came. Now you can return to your regularly scheduled terror! Remember it's your last day to fight Jack the Lantern, to visit the haunted cave, entertain the Kings and the like with your Guising skills and get Halloween items. Also make sure you send your Grophs out to play tonight ... They might come back with something nice!

What is going on at the Stone Circle? Odd fires in the middle of the night, shadowy figures, and strange scraps of paper when the morning comes? Is this related to the unseen creatures that people have reported scratching at their window panes, or the warnings of doom from the Gypsy seer? No one seems to know, but there must be some meaning to this torn fragment ...

Always keen on the ancient desert Pharaohs, Amadeus has now outdone himself with these new paid account exclusives! (No paid account? Worry not, some of these items are not account bound, and one is a new offering from Khnarr)

Halloween Season! (posted 13:33)

It's Halloween Season, and the ghosts and ghouls are out for blood. To join in the fun most Grophs like to scare each other, or at least tell some exciting stories or poems, which they call Guising. If you want to join in the pick up a copy of Guising for Ghouls and go visit some NPCs.

Of course there are also all the normal things to do. The shops are full of Halloween goods, the Scary Cave is open, Jack the Lantern will be making a mess and you can assemble the dread Necronomicon. There are a few new items as well, as always.

Harvest Court Search (posted 13:31)

With Harvest Festival here, it's time for the Gropherazzi to be on the lookout for possible Harvest Court Members. They will be choosing a King and Queen of Harvest plus 6 Princes and 6 Princesses from among all the Grophs in Grophland. Only Previous Harvest Kings and Queens are ineligible. If your Groph want's to be chosen for the Court then they should be Ecstatic in Mood and it's helpful to have an arrangement making them one of the first 4 Grophs seen on your Lookup page. Good luck to all the aspirants, and Happy Harvest!

Harvest Time! (posted 1:11)

October is coming in, bringing Autumn winds and rain, so it must be time for the Grophland Harvest Festival! Visit the Festival Showground (on the main island), for the best in Harvest food and pets, and of course the annual Pumpkrin show. As an extra bonus this year all garden plants harvested during the festival will produce one extra fruit! (Except the seed of wonder, sorry).

As ever there are some new items to be found in the festival store, so get them while they are there!

For the first time you can visit Jungletown, the trading post on the edge of the Jungle Island. There isn't anything there right now beyond the existing shops, but it's a lovely place to visit nevertheless.
