Kuak and Kala are almost upon us, and it's time to get your trees up and decorated! Kuak trees are now for sale, and you can find decorations all around Grophland. Check Texolan and Aquaria for some particularly fine ornaments.

Starting today we are auctioning on Ebay the right to create a brand new Special Groph type on Grophland. If you win you will get to pick every aspect of the new special, how it looks, how it breeds, how it gets turned into a special. We'll also give you a fully upgraded paid account to house your new creation.
See this thread for more details.
If you visit the Town Hall you can now see the items Amadeus has given away in years gone by
Ladies and Gentlegrophs, Boys and Girls, it is time for a huge step ... to change the hair for Land Grophs! We have been using the same artwork for the last 7 years now, and I've always been too afraid to change it, but that time is no longer! We have new hair, and we are introducing it now! First though, a comparison. Here is some current hair ...
Here is the new equivalent ...

We (the staff) think it looks a whole lot better, and we hope you agree! In case you don't please visit the Wig Store and purchase a Classic Wig, which will force your Groph to use the old style hair and not the new. Now enjoy!
The Mountain Monks have a little problem. The Serene Master has got stuck in the tower meditating again. Maybe you could go and gently wake him up?

If you do disturb him he might reward you with one of these new items.

Well most users have seen this now, since we've been running a trial for most of the past week, but for the unobservant or confused, Grophland now has a chat feature!
You can find the chat in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Simply click the Chat tab to open it and it will stay open on each new page (unless you change this in your preferences). Click the tab again to close it. At the moment the Chat is a single global channel for all users, though we will look into 1 to 1 chats in the future.

Thanks to our tireless artists contributors, here are some new and elegant items suitable for a Winter Ball.

The Features forum is already open for Kuak and Kala submissions, but it's now open for Facial Hair and Makup as well. Enjoy!
Also it seems I forgot to actually have the Guild forums show up on the forum list for anyone but me! Oops! They show there now.
So I've added a new theme, Rust. It's a little darker and more gritty than the ones we've had before, but very close to the original theme. Why? Because if people think it's suitable it might even become the new default theme. So take a look and leave some feedback in the General forum.

This is a grab bag of updates, hopefully with something for all the collectors out there. And yes, I know the moth is technically already released, but it was never announced, so there.

Good news for those who use Stained Glass (most of you) and like the Forest, the forest finally has it's own stained glass background! Even if you don't use stained glass you should notice that all of the characters in the Forest have had their images updated. It's not a big change in most cases, but they should look a little sharper and smoother for all of you. For example the Archer ...

Today we are pleased to announce the introduction of Rateable battles, Single Player Pit battles against monsters of your Rank that can actually raise your combat stats and give other rewards! Unlike normal single player battles, which leave no injuries and offer no prizes, rateable battles are designed to be tougher, and more worth doing.
For full details see the explanatory thread in the Combat forum, and look out for the Rateable logo on Pit opponents.

The year is a-turning and the Harvest and Halloween festivals have passed, so the features forum is being given over to Kuak and Kala, our next major festivities. You can still submit item redraws though, if that's your thing.
We've been asked for more lower level Pit opponents, so here we are. The Dark Cervere hails from the deep forests of the Jungle Island. A nimble and vicious predator more than capable of devouring a novice Groph warrior!

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Guilds on Grophland. Guilds are player run organizations. Guilds have their own officers, forums, pages, logos and bank accounts. If you want to get like minded players together for any reason, then a Guild is the way to do it!

Any paid member can create a Guild, becoming the Guildmaster. Each paid member can only have one Guild at a time. Once the Guild is created the Guildmaster can accept other members, promote officers, create pages and more.
Any member can join a Guild (subject to approval by the Guildmaster), and you can switch Guilds whenever you like. Paid members can join up to three Guilds at once, not just one!
Interested? Visit the Guild House (in Grophtown) or the General Forum to learn more.

Just some small coding updates today
Master Lysander, purveyor of the finest wigs since 1073, has founded a new store, splitting the former Face, Hat and Hair store in two. In the process he is pleased to release a few new splendid wigs.

It's Halloween at last, and the Moon Moth seems to have finally retreated back into the shadows from whence it came. Now you can return to your regularly scheduled terror! Remember it's your last day to fight Jack the Lantern, to visit the haunted cave, entertain the Kings and the like with your Guising skills and get Halloween items. Also make sure you send your Grophs out to play tonight ... They might come back with something nice!
Some owners are reporting sightings of the Moon Moth! Are they crazy? Is it true? Here is an artist's impression.

What are these strange items? What is the purpose of the abandoned shop? Where is Hasting the Moon Moth Man?
