It's been a really long time, an unreasonably long time in fact, since we last released a new special Groph, but thanks to Q (who worked with me on the desings) the time has come again! These are a hard one to breed, so I'm not expecting them to appear in a rash. Without further ado, here is the usual question, what would you have to do to get one one of these?
Note that there are some associated items released today too, but I'll hold off on announcing them till people have worked out what to do with them.
Just a few more Moustaches to round out the set. Also we added an article on the Grophlopedia listing all Avatars.

Handing torn pages into Hatmos can now also get you the Bookbinder Avatar.
Librarian Hatmos is pleased to announce that, with your help, he has recovered most of the missing books in the Grand Library. He is now turning his attention to the rarest volumes. From today instead of giving out random books he will be offering a rarer selection. However he now needs 25 pages per book, rather than 20. As well as some rare books which have been seen before Hatmos will also be offering some brand new volumes.

A couple more books done in our endless drive to redraw old art. Also a new pet, which the Tramp seems to have unearthed from the forest dirt. What does he do there all day!?

Kuak is past, and it's 1112, the year of the Dark Phrash, so what better way to welcome it in but with some new cash store items. This time we are introducing boxes of potions and coins. If these prove popular we will be expanding the cash store beyond four items at a time and making these new staples.

Head to Tollia (or the House of Games) to try and save the Stick-Groph from certain doom by playing Hanggroph, our newest game.

Because it's January, and it's dark, and it's cold, and I have to go back to work today.

We have updated more of the Land Groph hair types. You should be seeing new versions of the Light Green, Dark Green, Pink, Purple and Dark Blue hair types from today.
As has been pointed out in bugs, a lovely Lunar Groph named Alanei has turned up who appears to have no owner. Since she's so special I have started a contest, the winner will get Alanei (even if their cave is full). Enter at the Colosseum as usual.
You can now pay $5 to buy three more Guild joining places, e.g. if you are a free user and buy this upgrade you will be able to join up to 4 guilds at once, a paid user will be able to join 6.
Kuak Day is here, the Raindeer are asleep, and every Groph is in the streets visiting friends, eating Winter Pudding, and giving gifts. As a special present (in these times of economic uncertainty) I've given everyone 15,000 Grophgold, spend it wisely! Also don't forget to get your Winter Pudding from Amadeus on the last day of the Icefall giveaway.
Now it is time for the Dark Days, until Kala when the Raindeer return, the Sun is reborn, and the days get longer again. Don't despair though, hopefully everyone has more than enough Linger biscuits and Kuak candles to get them through the darkness.
The cash store has been updated, just in time for Kuak, and there are a few other new items for sale in Aquaria to go with them.

It seems that King Esdras has realised that whatever is going on at the Grave of Ships is important to his city, and he's sent his forces to help you on the quest. You'll now find this Guard there to help you.

Thanks to Tiermann's suggestion we are happy to bring you a whole new dimension in decorations for your Kuak Tree! Collect the whole set of these Model Town houses (selection boxes available in the toy store) and recreate Grophtown under your tree!

As some of you noticed quickly, a new quest opened yesterday with Dr Mux's new features. This quest seems to concern the Legends of Nullibrach, whose bones (as I am sure you remember) vanished from his undersea cave late in the year. Don't know where to start? Make sure you complete the Mystery of the Sea Shadow quest first.
Dr Mux, the well known eccentric scientist, has long been a resident of the Town Hall. Now he has decided to try and provide a useful service. Bring him your mystery items and he'll have a go at identifying them. Being a careful man he will only venture an opinion on things he knows something about, but there are some interesting tidbits of information ...
