Looking for Alchemy tips? The Wizard will now allow you to browse his shelves for tips (in fact if you fail to make something he'll even suggest it). The higher your level the more complex the recipes you might find clues on. I'm also adding more Alchemical clues (for your notebook) around the site as I go.

Quest Tracking and Progress (posted 13:07)

Quests have always been one of the biggest features on Grophland. Following clues, deciphering codes, fighting monsters, collecting items. Most of our fan sites cover one or more, and there is a whole forum dedicated to them. Last year we made the Quest system a little easier to follow by adding a summary of each quest to the Grophlopedia, but those summaries don't tell you which quests you are on, or help you when you are stuck.

No more! Now the Mysterious Fortune Teller is standing by with detailed clues and tracking for almost every quest (the others are either one step or will come soon). She can show you summaries of the quests you have already done, and also the ones you are in the middle of doing. She (or is it a he) will even give you clues of where to go next for the Quests you are in the middle of.

Forum Notifications (posted 9:28)

As of today we are pleased to announce a totally new system for Forum notifications, pings, quotes, and subscribed threads. A new menu item, Notifiations, lets you see a list of every time you were pinged, quoted or a post was made on a subscribed thread. In addition the new notification settings (on the main Forum page or the Forum preferences) lets you chose whether or not to get an on-screen notification (and Grophmail) for each of these things. That's right, you can get an on-screen notification each time you are quoted if you wish.

Spring is ending, summer is beginning, and it's time for the Fire Festival. Send your Grophs out to play but beware, they might get hurt as well as coming back with masks and other things. Look out for the Bonfires, they are spread all over Grophland. Find them all and get a prize. Above all remember it's a day when the rules don't apply, so be careful

Binia : The Search Continues (posted 5:43)

People all over Grophland are searching for Princess Binia, eager to save her from whatever has happened to her. Contacts have been contacted, ner-do-wells have been braced, and forests have been searched. Lucky Lou and Benny the Reporter have been convinced to hand over fragments of some sort of jewellery, but it's certainly not complete and nor is the search.

Reading Books (posted 2:20)

When you read a book to your Groph the results now display on the book page (in the case of normally reading the book) rather than on a separate page. This should make using books a little faster.

A few small updates today ...

• The welcome pages no longer claim you've confirmed when you have not
• You now get to choose the breed when adopting your first Groph
• Unlucky Slots now shows total spent / won (like the normal Slots
• You can now click to add a title on your welcome post when on the BooBoo King quest in Chrome
• You can now see your bottled Grophs when you only have one
• The placeholders for charms, tools, pets etc. show on a Groph page even when you have no items yet

New today, the Magpie Nature has been added. Magpie Grophs may pick up items randomly while you are on expeditions or fishing (other activities may be included when we see how these ones work out. The Magpie nature is rare, and related to Studious.
