As some of you have already spotted all four of our wonderful Moderators who were not Wizards have been upgraded to Wizard status! Welcome Cruzn, Zelly, Kilmeny and Firebird to the ranks of Wizards!

Internet Safety (posted 8:00)

Although the mods and wizards work to make this site a safe place for you all to play with your grophs and enjoy being friends, it's come to our attention that some of you are giving away personal information that your Mums and Dads might not be happy about you revealing, and that you probably shouldn't put in public areas for your own safety.Here's a list of the things that you should not post on your look-ups or in the forums:

Please remember that if a stranger on Grophland asks you for personal information that you're not happy revealing, you should tell a Wizard or Moderator straight away.

The Wizards and Mods will be looking at your look-ups over the next few days and keeping an eye on forum posts, and will be asking you to remove any information that we feel might be putting you at risk.

The Archer has now turned up at the Pit in Rank 2 and is willing to have a fight with anyone who wants to give him a go.

More Changes (posted 13:49)

The contest list now shows the contest price. Also you can click any of the column headings to sort the list.

Recent Changes (posted 7:32)

There have been many many minor changes recently, that I have just not gotten around to listing. Here are the ones I can remember.

• Shop prices now appear with commas in them
• Clicking on an item in the shop search takes you to the right part of the shop page
• Your grophgold on hand now appears with commas in it
• The Jackpot in the normal slots is now always at least 1000gg, even if it has just been won
• Grophs on sale in user shops now have a minimum price of 500gg
• There is now a confirmation step before you breed two grophs
• A number of spelling corrections have been done
• The contents of wardrobes and weapon racks are now alphabetical

If I have changed anything else and not announced it, please let me know!

New Style User Shops (posted 7:10)

As from today the user shops have had a big restyling. There are a number of changes

1. The items in the shop are now broken into groups, by type, with all the items of the same type together. This will make them much easier to browse
2. When you follow a link from the shop search to a user shop you will go directly to the item you searched for
3. When you update your shop prices you can now update multiple prices (or all prices) at once. Change as many prices as you like and then either press enter while the cursor is in a price field, or click the nearest 'update prices' button (there is one at the start of every section

These changes should make the shops far easier to use

I have added an Archives forum where we can store old threads that we don't want to just vanish off the other forums. I have moved a couple of roleplaying threads there, and will no doubt move some others in time.

Single Player Combat (posted 14:57)

As of today your grophs can fight a single-player combat against a computer opponent! These fights follow the same rules as a normal battle, and all normal items can be used in them, but they only need one player. A number of monsterous opponents are already waiting to fight you, and more will come.

At the moment the single-player combat system is still in testing. We have opened it to all players, but there may still be some bugs. Also (for now) the combat is free, and doesn't give a prize at the end. We may charge in the future (not sure) and there may be prizes as well. Note that you do not need to be on full hits to enter a one-player combat, and that your groph will be healed back to its starting hits at the end of the combat, or if you withdraw.

To try the single player combat now just go to the arena and follow the link to The Pit

New Login Restrictions (posted 14:56)

In the hope of preventing banned users from going to a friend's house, making a new account, and then logging in from home we have changed the login to stop people logging in from banned addresses, as well as not making accounts from them. Sadly this has affected a few people who are not banned, because they have ahost (like AOL) that gives out random addresses, and they can end up with a banned one. We are very sorry if this has happened to you.

Staff stepping down (posted 7:48)

It is with great saddness that I have to annouce that two of our beloved staff have left the halls of wizards and moderators today. KatrinaZ has stepped down as a Moderator to concentrate on her upcomming University course, while long time Wizard (and original playtester) Duckiemonster has been put on official sabbatical. She will of course be welcome back if she ever comes back!

Grophland Shop on Cafepress (posted 10:49)

We'd just like to take the time to remind everyone about our shop on Cafepress. We have a variety of t-shirts, mouse mats, mugs and so forth available for you to buy there today.

Sadly the shop has not done well, in fact it has cost more to keep open than we have ever made from it. We are not closing it yet, but if it keeps on not being used then we may have to give up on it in time.

Some of you may have noticed that, in our ongoing attempts to make Grophland perfect, we have tinkered with the contests again. There are now more divisions between ranks at the low end, where most Grophs are, so look out for some rank 2 and 3 contests appearing.
