Forum changes (posted 5:18)

Hot on the heels of the change to the quote box style last week there have now been some more forum changes. Threads which are both locked and sticky are now called Notices, and appear first on each forum, followed by other sticky threads. Locked threads are also now coloured, this time in red, so you can easily spot them.

Meanwhile the look of individual threads has changed a lot, with a new style bar at the bottom for the various buttons and the table borders replaced with slimer dark red ones. If you don't see any of this you may need to do a force reload of the page first.

Yes amazingly we have finally reached 1000 Grophland items ... and this isn't it. No in a twist of fate the 1000th item is a very special wizard recipe that is not yet available ... and the 1000 and 1st isn't anything special either! Never fear, however, because Amadeus is here to the rescue with this fantastic commemorative action figure.

As of today all passwords have to be at least 8 letters long and contain at least one non alphabetic character. Please change your passwords. After a grace period we will be notifying all users with insecure passwords to change them.

WARNING (posted 12:20)

In the last few days at least eight different users have been hacked by another user after giving out their passwords. The hacker promises to put something on their lookup, then logs into their account, changes the password, takes their grophs and money and leaves them with nothing. Worse they then use the hacked accounts to con other users.

BEWARE the hacker is still about! NEVER give your password to anyone! All of these users have just lost everything because they didn't keep their passwords safe. No one EVER needs to know your password. No one should log into your account, no one ever needs too. KEEP YOUR PASSWORD SAFE!

Many of us have been waiting for the last book of the Harry Potter series to be released at midnight on Friday, July 20th. Since we don't want the book spoiled for us, there will be NO HARRY POTTER THREADS ALLOWED starting on Friday, July 20th through Tuesday, July 31st. You can start threads to discuss the book on August 1st. We will automatically delete any Harry Potter threads we see during the ban, so please don't start any.

If you haven't read the book by August, be warned, if you read any Harry Potter threads, you may have the book spoiled for you.
