Combat Rankings (posted 3:36)

At long last the confusing combat rankings (Master, Grand Master etc.) have been replaced by a numerical scale similar to that used in contests. Indeed a Rank 2 battler should be roughly at Rank 2 contest level as well.

All Grophs now show their combat rank at the bottom of their page with the rest of the battle information. Battle Ready Grophs also display this in a shield at the top of their page. You can also see the rank on your Battle ready page (which you can now access easily from the combat ready option on your Groph listing).

The Combat Rank also forms the core of the new Opponent Finder. Click on one of your Grophs and you will see Grophs of a similar Rank to yours available to challenge. We hope this will make it vastly easier to find Grophs to battle with.

Battling changes (posted 11:16)

Some small changes have been made to the battle system today

• 0 damage shows up orange, not red
• Shields now have twice as much defence as before
• Armour now stops more damage than before (it stops it's value, plus a percentage of the damage)
• The Ice shield now heals for 8% of your damage plus the defence of your shield

Summer is fully in swing, and so the Cash Store has restocked with some brand new items. These ones have a fishing theme, for spending a lazy day (or week) at one of Grophland's lovely fishing spots.

The Black Falchion now inflicts plague on it's user less often. In addition the Plague inflicted on opponents does more damage, lasts longer and has a larger penalty to Strength and Agility.

The sun is bright, the morning is clear, Dairy Day has begun! From all over the Mainland farmers are gathering to show their Dairy Snails and Collie Greffles, competing for prizes and acclaim. The mainland showgrounds are now open for business, packed with delicious ice cream and snail related goods.

Some updates today

• The Helpful Globboth can now look for items based on their subtype (e.g. flowers or fruit) or name as well as type.
• The Helpful Globboth should now intercept items from all sources except Grophmails and those created in containers
• Containers with a Globboth inside show an icon in your inventory
• A number of new recipes were added
• Per-Seco Distillate can now only be made using a Salamander Alchemist

Possibly the oddest item we have ever created. The Helpful Globoth will sit inside one of your containers and catch passing items of the right type when you buy them. At the moment it only works with items purchased from the Grophland shops, but user shops will follow soon.

As of today the Froggle Chef, Mesarch Scribe and Salamander Alchemist will sometimes produce two of the item when making a recipe.

As of this week Dairy Snail pets will produce milk.

Reports are coming in that some brave players may have recovered volumes of the Great Index hidden by Hatmos, revealing the one in the Library to be a fake! If all the volumes are returned order may be restored!

As the crisis in Khnaar continues, reports are coming in that the brave players attempting to solve the mystery and find the rogue Hatmos are finding themselves under attack from increasingly dangerous foes! Who are these assassins and what are they hiding? One thing is for sure, if these mysterious codes cannot be solved soon the crisis will only worsen!

Meanwhile, despite the denials of the Grand Librarian, it appears armed men are on the loose in the city! As panic spreads around the scholarly community your help is sorely needed. Meanwhile demand for the Torn Pages is soaring ...

Something seems to be rotten in the city state of Khnarr. The Library has shut down, claiming that their precious master catalog has been sabotaged. meanwhile the last Scribe seen near to the Great Index has vanished in suspicious circumstances. What's going on? Where is wrong with the Great Index? Where is Hatmos? Only you can find out!
