The News learnt today that there is a strong chance that Bank Charges, especially taxes, may be set to rise sharply. Normally tax limits are agreed between the Bank Chancellor and the Mayor, but Neybags was heard to say "Amadeus isn't here! I can do what I like!"

Harvest Festival Funding Question (posted 15:03)

Marjorie Dribblecloot, chief fundinggroph of the Harvest Festival board, has gone on record today denying that there are any questions raised over the financing of this year's celebrations. Concerns first arose around two months ago, when one of the major sponsors, Baron Stufflebutt of Gropharmari, announced that he was withdrawing his patronage. However it was believed that Grophtown Mayor Amadeus had agreed to arrange for alternative support. With the Mayor's recent disappearance, however, this deal is in doubt. Although Fundinggroph Dribblecloot said that the arrangements would surely go ahead, it is well known that the Mayor is one of the few Grophs capable of arranging such major financial deals.
